Motor Lublin - Lech Poznań 0:1
Lech took another important step towards winning the Polish title, as they secured a 1:0 win against Motor Lublin. Leo Bengtsson scored the only goal of the match.
Niels Frederiksen’s side had a great opportunity to increase their advantage in the league table, largely due to the Polish Cup final and their rivals’ postponed fixtures. An away win against Motor would move Lech closer to retaining their title.
The guests started well, bypassing Motor’s press with ease and creating clear scoring chances. The first real opportunity fell to Ali Gholizadeh, who beat several defenders but, under pressure, failed to hit the target. Shortly afterwards, the Iranian suffered a serious injury, which has ruled him out for the rest of the season. The incident slightly disrupted Lech’s attacking rhythm, but they still managed to strike before halftime. Bengtsson turned superbly towards goal and fired a low, precise shot past the post, leaving Gasper Tratnik with no chance.
After the break, Lech remained in control of the game. Frederiksen’s team restricted Motor to very little, with the hosts managing just one shot on target. Lech continued to push for a second goal to make things more comfortable, but Tratnik denied them each time. In the end, the reigning Champions held on to their lead and moved a step closer to defending the title.
