One aim: to win the Polish Cup
“No matter who were are playing against and where, we always want to play our football, impose our style of play. We are going to travel to Chorzow to get out on the pitch and win because our aim is to advance to the next round of the Polish Cup,” said Jan Bednarek, Lech’s defender.
On Wednesday, at 20:45 Lech is going to face Ruch Chorzow in the round of 16 of the Polish Cup. Lech’s defender, Jan Bednarek, admits that the teams sees the game as an opportunity to make up for the recent league loss. “We are determined to win the match. I hope we can learn from our mistakes, put the last loss against Lechia behind and start another series of wins,” explained the young footballer.
The history of the recent clashes with Ruch is in favor of Lech. The club from Poznan went unbeaten for the past 10 matches with the rival from Chorzow. The goal is to keep up with the good series. “It doesn’t matter to us if we play one match, or two games. We always go out on the pitch to win. The key is the team’s organization. We are in a good form and I hope we can make it to the next round of the Polish Cup. We have one aim: to win the Polish Cup this season,” emphasized Bednarek.
On Monday the young defender signed a new contract with the team from Poznan, extended his agreement with the club till June 2020. “The new deal doesn’t change the way I feel. It is only a signature on a piece of paper. I will keep on working as hard as I have done so far and I will face all the new challenges,” explained the defender. “Hard work on the training sessions and good performances during the games is how I want to show the coach that I am worth giving a chance.”
