"First 'we', then 'me'"

Christian Gytkjaer scored Lech’s last goal in an away match, and it was also the last time the team from Poznan won whilst playing away from home. Therefore, the striker seems to be the best man to help Lech end this unsuccessful series of away games without a win. "In order to win the championship, we need to play well as a team, not only as individuals," explained Christian Gytkjaer.

It’s been 389 matches since Lech managed to beat the opponent’s goalkeeper while playing away from Poznan. It was the Danish striker who scored the last goal for Lech in an away game. Gytkjaer beat the goalkeeper in Zabrze after receiving a great pass from Makuszewski. Whilst searching for Lech’s last win in an away league match, you need to go back all the way to 20th of August when the team from Poznan beat Termalica Bruk-Bet Nieciecza 3:1. In that game, Gytkjaer scored too after an assist from Robert Gumny. Since then, the players from Poznan failed to repeat the successful match despite having 9 opportunities to do so.

"Sometimes all you need to end a bad series is a win. We are hoping that by winning the Sunday away match against Korona, we will initiate a successful run of matches away from home. A win will simply build our confidence," explained the 27-year-old who’s been a top goal scorer in the Norwegian league.

The forward believes that the next away match will be an independent game, therefore, you cannot talk about a mental blockade of the team. Gytkjaer says that he and his teammates have experience numerous difficult periods during their careers and they always managed to make it all alright. “We are professionals for whom challenges are a daily thing. And we look forward to all challenges we must face, like the one on Sunday. We need to approach obstacles together, as a team, and that’s what I believe in – that first comes "we", then "me”, explained the Danish striker. "We don’t think about how it can get any tougher because that would simply kill us,” added the player who’s been scoring for Lech on average every 142,5 minutes.

The former footballer of Rosenborg and TSV 1860 Munich thinks that at a certain stage of the season, the tactics will change and two forwards will play alongside each other. "I am sure that our coach will use this tactical plan for one of the matches. We’re tried this formation with Nicki Bille and Deniss Rakels last season, and we might be testing it in the upcoming games too. However, I can’t say when, so you need to ask the coach himself,” summarized the Danish striker.
