Wålemark debuts for the Swedish national team
On Friday, Lech Poznań player Patrik Wålemark made his official debut for the Swedish senior national team. The winger spent 20 minutes on the pitch, and his squad ended up triumphing 2:1 in the clash with Romania.
For Wålemark, it's the second call-up for the senior national team, but the first one since he joined Lech Poznań. The previous time, the winger didn't end up debuting for his country.
This time, during Sweden's first Nations League clash of the season, Wålemark received a chance to show his talent on the pitch. In the 77th minute, the winger replaced Alexander Bernhardsson on the pitch and, in the end, celebrated with his teammates a 2:1 win over Romania, thanks to goals from Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyökeres.
Graham Potter's squad has a few more games scheduled for this international break - a clash with Poland (September 28th), Bosnia and Herzegovina (October 2nd), and one more match against Romania (October 5th). So far, Sweden is the best team in Group 4 of League B.
