Lech to face Siarka Tarnobrzeg in Polish Cup
On Thursday afternoon, Lech Poznań learned their next Polish Cup rival. In the round of 32, the Polish Champions will face Siarka Tarnobrzeg. The exact date of the clash will be announced soon.
The Polish teams that had competed in European competition qualifiers this season - that is, Lech Poznań, Górnik Zabrze, Jagiellonia Białystok, Raków Częstochowa, and GKS Katowice - start the Polish Cup from the round of 32. Among the 32 clubs, 11 are top-division sides, 11 are second-tier, 8 play in the third league, and 2 are from the fourth division. Lech will face one of the clubs from the last group - Siarka Tarnobrzeg.
The side drawn first when revealing a pairing is the host of the clash. Lech Poznań was paired with the fourth-tier Siarka Tarnobrzeg, and their opponent will host Niels Frederiksen and his men at their home ground. The clash will take place between October 27th and 29th; the exact date will be revealed soon.
