Wojciech Mońka has been named the PKO Bank Polski Youth Player of the Month. It is the second time that the defender has been recognised in the 2025/26 season.
Lech's centre-back previously received the award in February. In addition, at the recent Ekstraklasa Gala, the young Pole was named Defender of the Season. Winning the Polish Championship title, the league’s top defensive award, and the second Young Player of the Month title, capped off an incredible month for Wojciech Mońka, as noted on the league's official website, ekstraklasa.org.
This season, the youth player status applies to footballers born in 2005 or later who hold Polish citizenship. Players meeting both criteria are eligible for the PKO Bank Polski Youth Player of the Month award. Nominees and the winner are selected based on individual statistics, performances in matches, and conduct off the pitch. For the May award, matches from rounds 31 to 34 were taken into account.
