Radomiak Radom - Lech Poznań 1:3

Lech Poznań have successfully defended their Polish Championship title. In a thrilling match, Niels Frederiksen’s side beat Radomiak Radom 3:1 to secure the PKO BP Ekstraklasa title with one game still to play.

Lech remain the undisputed league leaders. Frederiksen’s side came into the match on a nine-game unbeaten run, knowing that a victory in Radom would seal the Championship. The win not only secured their tenth league title but also extended that impressive streak to ten triumphs.

The hosts struck first in the 8th minute through Jan Grzesik. Although Bartosz Mrozek and his defensive teammates tried to clear the ball off the line, the follow-up effort hit the back of the net. After a short pause to honour Leandro, play resumed, and Lech responded quickly. In the 16th minute, captain Mikael Ishak headed home a superb cross from Luis Palma to level the score.

That goal brought a much-needed energy boost to Lech. After one missed opportunity, they took the lead in the 22nd minute. Patrik Walemark found Leo Bengtsson, who then set up Palma with a perfectly-timed pass. The Honduran kept his composure and finished confidently, beating the keeper in a one-on-one situation. Before half-time, Pablo Rodriguez also came close to scoring, but was denied by Majchrowicz. On the other end of the pitch, Wojciech Mońka dealt calmly with Radomiak’s attempts to equalise.

After the break, Lech pushed for a third goal to make their lead more secure, while the hosts searched for an equaliser. Ishak nearly scored again in the 53rd minute, but Radomiak’s keeper made an excellent save. Lech kept up the pressure, forcing the home side deep into their own half.

The decisive moment came in the 58th minute. Walemark played to Ishak, who was positioned in the box, before continuing his run. After receiving a return pass, the Swedish striker calmly slotted the ball home to make it 3:1 and seal the victory. Despite a tense and entertaining finish, neither side managed to score again.

The three points against Radomiak secured Lech’s title - their tenth Polish Championship – with one more league round left to play. In their final match of the season, Lech will host newly promoted Wisła Płock at Bułgarska Street, followed by the trophy presentation and title celebrations.
