Lech Poznań winger Kornel Lisman has signed a new contract with the club. The player’s deal will run until the end of June 2028.
Born in 2006, Lisman joined Lech Poznań ahead of the 2023/24 season, strengthening the club’s second team. His aim, after previously playing in the youth sides of Pogoń Szczecin and FASE, was to gradually step into senior football – something he achieved with Lech at the second-tier level. Already in his debut round, he became such an important part of his team that he featured for the U-19s only in the UEFA Youth League. In senior football, he collected nearly 800 minutes, two goals, and an assist in his first months wearing the blue-and-white shirt, and his standout performances earned him an invitation to the first team’s winter training camp in Belek, Turkey.
After the end of that camp, in February 2024, the young, still underage winger was promoted to the first team, where he has remained ever since. During the spring round, the pacey player underwent rehabilitation following knee surgery, and he had to wait until September of last year for his Ekstraklasa debut. He played a significant part in securing the club’s most recent title, appearing in each of the nine matches that concluded the previous campaign, at least off the bench.
This season, too, he enjoys the trust of manager Niels Frederiksen and has repaid it with, among other things, a goal in the Europa League qualifiers against KRC Genk and an assist in a recent league match against Arka Gdynia. In the meantime, he also made his first appearances for Poland’s U-20 national team against Portugal and Switzerland in the Elite League, and had earlier represented his country at the U-18 level. Lisman continues to aim for steady development in the blue-and-white shirt, wanting to become an even better player in the coming months.
“I’m happy with my time at Lech so far; everything has gone very smoothly, even despite the injury in my first season. I feel more confident thanks to regular game time – it grows with every match. I just need to keep working hard; there is a lot for us to win, and I want to help the team fight for more trophies,” said the 19-year-old Polish Champion, who has recently signed a new deal with the club, valid until the end of June 2028.
“Last season, Kornel proved he could rise to the occasion in matches that decided the title, and at the same time, we’re counting on his continued progress and on him becoming a player capable of delivering consistent numbers. We trust him because we see that every day he works hard on his development. We believe he will continue to confirm his potential even more effectively and showcase his strengths – his explosiveness and his courage in one-on-one situations,” added Lech’s Sporting Director, Tomasz Rząsa.
