Lech Poznań - Radomiak Radom 4:1

Lech Poznań made an excellent start to the final weeks of the autumn round. After the international break, Niels Frederiksen’s squad defeated Radomiak Radom 4:1 at home, thanks to a brace from Mikael Ishak and goals from Pablo Rodriguez and Yannick Agnero.

The international break came at the perfect moment for Lech’s players. Between October and November, the team from Poznań hit a slump, winning only one match during that period. The Lech side had a chance to bounce back on Sunday as they hosted Radomiak Radom at home. In addition, Ali Gholizadeh – one of Lech’s key players – finally returned from injury, which aroused optimism among the club and the fans.

The first half of the match did not bring much excitement. Both teams struggled to create dangerous opportunities in front of their opponents’ goal. The most important moment came shortly before half-time when Mikael Ishak tried to surprise Radomiak’s keeper with a header which was blocked by the hand of Steve Kingue, prompting the referee to award a penalty to the hosts. Lech’s captain stepped up to the spot and calmly slotted the ball home to give his team the lead.

There was considerably more action after the break. Lech quickly doubled their advantage when Filip Jagiełło played Ishak through on goal, and he squared the ball to Pablo Rodriguez, who made no mistake and scored his second goal in the blue-and-white shirt. The hosts continued to press and soon found the net for the third time. Rodriguez created space in the penalty area, passed to Ishak, and the Swede beat Filip Majchrowicz from close range. Radomiak tried to pull one back when Elves Balde finished Zie Outtara’s cross, but Lech’s players did not allow their opponents to gain momentum. Shortly before the final whistle, Luis Palma set up Yannick Agnero with a perfect pass, and the latter kept his composure in a one-on-one situation, setting the final score to 4:1.
