Seven matches between October and November, and another five or six from late November to mid-December - Lech Poznań still has two intense playing periods left in the autumn round. Sunday’s match against Pogoń Szczecin (2:2) marked the start of a busy stretch for the Polish Champions, with games every three days.
The team’s schedule will be based on a Thursday-Sunday rhythm until the November international break. Midweek games will be devoted to European competitions and the Polish Cup, while weekends will focus on the PKO BP Ekstraklasa. Out of these seven fixtures, as many as five will be away matches, with only two taking place at the Enea Stadium on Bułgarska Street. One of them - the clash against Pogoń Szczecin - is already behind Niels Frederiksen’s squad.
Now the team faces life on the road, with three consecutive away trips ahead. On Wednesday, Lech will head to Gibraltar, where they will face Lincoln Red Imps FC on Thursday in the Europa Conference League. They’ll return on Friday, then travel to Warsaw on Saturday for an awaited league clash with Legia on Sunday. Next Wednesday, the team from Poznań will take a bus trip to Słupsk, where they’ll meet Gryf in the Polish Cup round of 32 on Thursday.
After that comes their only home game in this stretch - against Motor Lublin on November 2nd. Then, it’s back on the road for two more away games: first to Madrid to face Rayo Vallecano, and immediately after returning, to Gdynia to play Arka for PKO BP Ekstraklasa points.
Then comes the international break, followed by five or six more matches, depending on whether Frederiksen’s squad advances in the Polish Cup. However, those games will be more spread out, as the last two rounds of the Conference League won’t be interrupted by any other fixtures.
