The 27-year-old arrived in Poznań on Wednesday. The next day, he underwent medical tests and then signed a contract with his new club. Originally from Sweden, he's a Hammarby IF homegrown player, but he achieved his greatest professional success while competing for BK Häcken – that’s where he won the league title three years ago. In 2020, he scored eight goals and got five assists for the team from Gothenburg. Over the next season and a half, he added seven league goals and two assists to his statistics. Bengtsson later moved to Cyprus, joining Aris Limassol, where he won another championship title just ten months after his arrival.

His contribution to the trophy was significant - he scored eight goals and got five times in his debut season. In the following years, Bengtsson and his teammates finished fourth and then second, coming just behind Pafos in the recent campaign. A new chapter now awaits Bengtsson, who will be wearing the blue and white colours. On Thursday, he signed a three-year contract with an option to extend the agreement for another year.

“He's a player with experience in competing for trophies - he’s won two national championships and was an important part of his previous teams. He primarily plays as a left winger but can also compete on the opposite flank. Bengtsson is quick, effective in one-on-one situations, and possesses a solid finishing touch. His previous clubs favoured a playing style and formation similar to ours, and he spent the last few weeks at a preseason training camp with Aris. We believe these factors will help him adapt quickly to Lech,” said the club’s Sporting Director, Tomasz Rząsa.

Lech’s latest signing is also very excited to join Niels Frederiksen’s squad, which will kick off the 2025/2026 season with a Polish Super Cup clash on Sunday.
