Salamon returns to Polish NT
Bartosz Salamon was called up for the Polish national team ahead of the March matches. The squad led by Czesław Michniewicz will play two games in the upcoming weeks – a friendly against Scotland, and a World Cup playoff with the winner of Sweden vs Czech Republic clash.
The last time that the 30-year-old defender was called up for the Polish national team was 6 years ago. His last appearance for Poland took place in September 2016, in a World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan (2:2). So far, Salamon has 9 caps on his account, during which he got one assist (against Finland).
As a result of Russia’s ban from the World Cup qualifiers, on March 24th Poland will play a friendly against Scotland (Glasgow, 8:45 pm). 5 days later, Michniewicz’s team will face the winner of Sweden vs Czech Republic clash in the World Cup playoffs. The match is going to take place in Chorzów.
Salamon is Lech’s starting line-up defender. So far this season, the Pole appeared in 30 matches for Lech and scored 3 goals.
