Salamon parts ways with Lech

The 34-year-old central defender is a Lech Poznań Academy product who moved to Italy as a teenager. He spent fourteen years abroad, playing for various teams. In the winter of the 2020/2021 season, he returned to the capital of Greater Poland, signed a contract with Lech Poznań, and won the Polish Championship the following season. He was a key player at the time – he appeared in 25 matches and scored three goals (against Cracovia (2:0), Wisła Płock (4:1), and Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza (5:0)). As a result of his great disposition, Salamon returned to the Polish national team after several years, though this story ended unfortunately for him - he was injured in a match against Scotland, which sidelined him for several months. Consequently, the defender missed the end of that championship-winning season.

In the following campaign, the Pole contributed to a historic achievement - Lech's first-ever advancement to the quarterfinals of European competitions. He played in four UEFA Europa Conference League games. After a disappointing 2023/2024 campaign, Lech went on to win its second Polish Championship title with Salamon in the squad. In that season, the defender played in 17 matches, although he struggled with health issues towards the end of the spring round.

In the current campaign, Salamon hasn’t made any appearances so far and has decided to move to another club. His contract was terminated in an atmosphere of mutual respect. "The General", as Bartek was often called by Lech fans, played a total of 87 matches for the Poznań club, scoring four goals and providing three assists.
