National teams’ schedule – who and when?

24 Lech Poznań players left for the international break. 6 of them will play in the European Championship qualifiers, among them Bartosz Salamon who is returning to the Polish national team after a yearlong break.

Fernando Santos, who has recently taken over the Polish national team, called up Michał Skóraś and Bartosz Salamon for Poland’s upcoming international games. For the winger, it’s the third time in a row that he joins the senior Polish squad. Recently, he appeared in the Nations League games against the Netherlands (0:2) and in the World Cup clash with Argentina (0:2). Meanwhile, Lech’s centre-back is returning to the Polish squad after a yearlong break caused by an injury that he suffered in Poland’s clash with Scotland (1:1). Santos’ team will play against the Czech Republic and Albania in the EURO 2024 qualifiers.

Lubomir Šatka can be sure to make an appearance for Slovakia. The last time the defender did not receive a call-up was nearly three years ago. His national squad, similarly to Poland, will begin the qualifications for the upcoming Euro. Francesco Calzona’s team will face Luxembourg and Bosnia & Herzegovina. Meanwhile, when it comes to Sweden, Janne Andersson recognized Jesper Karlström’s great form. The midfielder will have an opportunity to play for his national team in the clashes with Belgium and Azerbaijan. Nika Kvekveskiri and Gio Tsitaishvili were also called up. Their squad will play a friendly with Mongolia, and then a EURO 2024 qualifying game against Norway.

Filip Marchwiński, Filip Szymczak, Maksymilian Pingot, Krzysztof Bąkowski and Krystian Palacz will travel to Belek with the U-21 Polish national team. In Turkey, the Poles will play friendly games against Austria and Albania. For Krystian Palacz, this international break will be an opportunity to debut in the U-21 team. Afonso Sousa and his U-21 Portuguese teammates also have two friendly matches scheduled – against Romania and Norway.

Filip Wilak has also been called-up but for the younger age category, that is, U-20. The last time that the winger joined his national team was 3 years ago. He as well as Lech’s Patryk Waliś and Filip Borowski will have an opportunity to play against the Czech Republic. For two of Lech’s youngsters, it will be a chance to debut in the U-20 age category.

Meanwhile, Antoni Kozubal has been called up for the U-19 EURO elite round matches against Israel, Latvia and Serbia. His younger teammate, Maksymilian Dziuba, will join the U-18 Polish squad – for the first time in his career – for the two-leg friendly clash with Bulgaria.

Igor Brzyski, Michał Gurgul, Mateusz Mędrala, Oskar Tomczyk and Filip Wolski will compete in the European Championship qualifiers where the U-17 Polish squad will face Portugal, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. Meanwhile, Mateusz Pruchniewski and Kamil Jakóbczyk were called-up for the UEFA Development games – against Luxembourg, South Africa, and Northern Ireland.
