Lech's goalkeeper Bartosz Mrozek has been called up to the Poland national team for the March training camp. The Poles will compete in the qualification play-offs for the FIFA World Cup.
For the Lech's homegrown player, this is his seventh call-up to the senior squad. In September 2024, the goalkeeper received his first nomination, but he has yet to make his official debut for the national team. Now he returns to the squad, having been included on the list announced by head coach Jan Urban on Friday afternoon. Mrozek is among four goalkeepers selected, alongside Bartłomiej Drągowski (Widzew Łódź), Kamil Grabara (VfL Wolfsburg), and Mateusz Kochalski (Qarabağ Ağdam).
Important matches await Poland. On March 26th, they will face Albania in the play-off semi-final in Warsaw. If they win, they will play away on March 31st (in Valencia, Spain, or Solna, Sweden) in the final for a place at the upcoming World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. If they advance to the last stage of the qualification play-offs, they will face the winner of the Ukraine-Sweden clash. Meanwhile, the losing teams from the two semi-finals will play a friendly match.
