''I am a professional, always ready to play"
In the last league match before the November international break, Lech Poznań drew 0:0 against Legia Warsaw. It’s Lech’s seventh game without a loss in PKO BP Ekstraklasa, and the third consecutive clean sheet.
John van den Brom’s squad was ranked 3rd ahead of the Sunday league clash and had a chance to surpass Jagiellonia Białystok who drew 3:3 in their match against Korona Kielce. Despite a few goal-scoring opportunities, Lech ended up sharing league points with Legia Warsaw. The game between the two sides ended in a tie for the fourth time in a row.
“I like various aspects of football and "trash talk" is one of them. This time, there was a lot of it on the pitch. In terms of the defense, we played a decent game because we stopped Legia from dominating on their home ground and that is a reason to be happy,” said Lech’s defender, Barry Douglas.
For the Scottish player, the clash with Legia was the third match this season when he was a part of the starting line-up. Previously, Douglas started against Zalgiris Kaunas (3:1) and Cracovia (1:1). The defender spent the whole 90 minutes on the pitch in the clash with the team from the capital and managed to contain Paweł Wszołek successfully. The game proved that Scott is back in shape after missing a few matches due to an injury.
“I am an experienced professional who, despite my age and the changing role in the squad, remains ready to play. I maintain a rhythm and look after my physical condition. Of course, I would like to play as much as possible, hence this opportunity made me very happy,” explained Lech’s left-back.
