Denis Thomalla, the former forward of German Youth National Team, is currently undergoing medical tests in Lech Poznan. If the German player passes all the tests, he will sign a 3-year long contract with Lech.

Thomalla was born in 1992 in the German town called Pforzheim. His parents are Poles that come from the Lower Silesia. "He can speak Polish and therefore he won't have problems adapting," said Piotr Rutkowski, vice-chairman of Lech Poznan.

The German forward is a homegrown player of Karlsruher SC which he represented until he was 18 years old. His next club was Hoffenheim where he played for 3.5 years in the reserves team. Thomalla has already debuted in Bundesliga (against Freiburg) and German Cup (against Borussia Monchengladbach).

In the meantime the German forward represented German Youth National Teams - U-18 and U-19 - where he had the chance to play alongside the likes of Kevin Volland (Hoffenheim), Marc-Andre ter Stegen (FC Barcelona) and Shkodrana Mustafi (CF Valencia). Thomalla appeared on the pitch 19 times wearing German shirt and managed to score 5 goals.

In summer 2013 Thomalla moved to Red Bull Leipzig and a year later he was transferred on loan to SV Ried. The recent season has been very successful for the young forward. In the Austrian Bundesliga he played 29 matches (2594 minutes in total), scored 10 goals and assisted 7 times.

"He caught our attention when playing in Austria," said Rutkowski. "He demonstrates technical skills; he is fast, knows how to shoot and finish an offensive action. He has got big potential and through hard work he can turn into a unique player, just like multiple footballers that Lech brought down to Poznan in the past years."

If Denis Thomalla passes medical tests, he will sign a 3-year long contract and will become Lech's fourth signing this season.
