The Finnish midfielder highlighted the importance of the Saturday win and how much confidence the goal in the injury time gave to the team. "The most important thing is that we've won our first match in Ekstraklasa. During the game we had multiple opportunities, but we couldn't convert them into goals. In the injury time Marcin finished a wonderful team action with a goal and we could rejoice again," said Lech's midfielder. "The win with Lechia was a boost of confidence ahead of facing FC Basel. Nonetheless, we have to remain fully focused and concentrated on the next rival. The Swiss have great players in the squad and we know that if we are to win, we have to play our best."
Hamalainen emphasized that the mistakes the team had done against Lechia cannot be repeated in the match with the Swiss, because Basel is a very strong rival and they are capable of spotting and exploiting Lech's every single mistake. "We are ready for the Wednesday clash. We have played a very good game against Lechia, however when facing FC Basel we cannot make such mistakes. We know how good of a team Basel is and that they use every single error of ours for their own advantage, that is why concentration will be the key," said the Finnish player.
