Bartosz Mrozek - the three-time Polish Champion and Lech's first-choice goalkeeper in recent years - is leaving the club. The homegrown player is joining Italian Udinese Calcio on a permanent transfer.
The 2000-born goalkeeper joined Lech's Academy at the age of 14. During his time in the youth ranks, he won, among other honours, the Polish U17 and U19 Championships. He was promoted to the first team in the summer of 2016, although he primarily featured for the club’s Central Junior League side and second team, which was competing in the third tier.
Since joining the senior squad, Mrozek enjoyed loan spells at Elana Toruń and GKS Katowice, but his breakthrough came after joining Stal Mielec, where he played a full season in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa in 2022/23. He earned widespread praise for his performances and, upon returning to Bułgarska Street, established himself as Lech’s first-choice goalkeeper, featuring in almost every match over the following three seasons.
He won the Polish Championship twice with the club, playing a key role for Lech. In the 2024/25 season, he received the award for the league’s best goalkeeper.
Mrozek made 134 appearances in Poland’s top division, including 98 for the Poznań side. Across all competitions, he played 121 matches for Lech, keeping 42 clean sheets. During his time with the club, the 26-year-old was also called up to the Poland national team.
Mrozek, you were, are and always will be a Lech player! Thank you for everything you gave us whilst wearing the Blue and White shirt. We wish you all the best in the next chapter of your career. You will always be welcome at Bułgarska Street.
