“The first goal for Lech will drive me to continue working hard; I want to enjoy another goal this season. It was one of the easiest goals in my life, but it doesn’t matter much; what’s important is that the ball ended up in the net,” explained Lech’s youth player, Kornel Lisman. The winger came in from the bench in the clash with Puszcza Niepołomice, and three minutes later, he was celebrating his debut goal for the senior team.
The young Polish winger appeared on the pitch an hour into the match. The scoreboard showed an impressive 6:1 advantage for the hosts, but it doesn’t mean that Lisman came in overly relaxed, especially since the youth player was nearing his 10th appearance for the senior team and was yet to score a goal. However, on Saturday evening, the winger finally found the back of the net – less than 180 seconds after appearing on the pitch, Afonso Sousa and Daniel Håkans led a counterattack which the 19-year-old converted into the seventh goal.
After the match, Lisman voiced his appreciation for the Finnish winger whom he had already expressively thanked on the pitch. After all, you only score one debut goal in senior football. After joining Lech in the summer of 2023, Lisman proved his skills and talent whilst playing for Lech’s B team, where he scored 6 goals. Now he has started improving his statistics for the senior squad and, as the player himself says, he is hungry for more.
“I have waited a while for this goal, and I am happy that it’s finally happened. As a winger, I need to provide the team with tangibles and numbers in the offence. Therefore, it doesn’t matter that it’s likely one of the easiest goals in my life. What matters to me is that the ball ended up in the net. I'm always greedy for goals and this will drive me to continue working; I want more. That day, a lot went well for us; my teammates impressed with spectacular goals, we won by a lot [of goals]; it’s all very pleasing from the perspective of the season's final stage,” highlighted Kornel Lisman after the Saturday game.
