The Ekstraklasa SA League Commission rejected Lech’s appeal regarding Patrik Wålemark’s fourth yellow card, which he received in the recent clash with GKS Katowice. As a result, the winger will miss the last league game of the season, against Piast Gliwice (May 24th, 5:30 PM).
Patrik received a yellow card in the first half of last weekend’s match against GKS Katowice. The referee decided that the striker was simulating in an attempt to get a penalty kick, hence he punished the Swede. It was his fourth yellow card of the season, meaning Wålemark would miss the following league game.
On Monday, Lech Poznań sent an appeal to the Ekstraklasa SA League Commission. However, the Commission consulted with the Polish Football Association Referee Council and Bartosz Frankowski's decision was sustained as there was no evident refereeing mistake.
