Match no. 100 for Jóźwiak
At the weekend, Lech Poznan drew 1:1 with Slask Wroclaw in an away league clash. It was a special match for Kamil Jozwiak since it was his 100th appearance for the club from Poznan. “It’s an extraordinary moment for me. I’m hoping that I will get to play another 100 games for Lech,” said the homegrown footballer.
In the 19th round of PKO Ekstraklasa, Lech Poznan faced Slask Wroclaw. Darko Jevtic’s beautiful free kick helped the side from Poznan secure a draw and collect an important league point. Kamil Jozwiak has once again been named a part of the starting line-up and he appeared on the pitch wearing Lech’s shirt for the 100th time in his career.
“To be honest, I don’t know where the time has gone. It’s an extraordinary moment for me. I’m hoping that I will get to play another 100 games for Lech, whether in the nearest future or later down the road. This club has a special place in my heart, and I am happy to have had represented it on the pitch so many times,” emphasised Kamil Jozwiak.
The 21-year-old midfielder joined Lech Poznan Academy in 2011 and 5 years later he debuted in the senior team under the lead of Jan Urban in the clash against Jagiellonia Bialystok. That same season, Jozwiak also scored his first goal for the side from Poznan, in the match against Ruch Chorzow – he converted Gajos’s precise pass into a score-opener; the match eventually ended in a 3:0 win for Lech. In the following league campaign, Jozwiak was sent on loan to GKS Katowice and after 6 months he rejoined Nenad Bjelica’s squad where he became a key figure.
Out of the 100 games, 85 were league clashes, 11 Polish Cup games, 3 were international matches, and one was a Polish Super Cup final. So far, the homegrown midfielder scored 12 goals (11 in the league and 1 in a Europa League game). When it comes to scoring, this season has been his best yet and we’re going to keep our fingers crossed for the young star to make his statistics even better.
