Legia Warsaw - Lech Poznań 2:1

In the 12th league round of the season, Lech was beaten by Legia Warsaw 2:1. Darko Jevtic scored the only goal for the team from Poznan.

The first league match following the international break began very well for the side from Poznan. In the first 5 minutes of the game, Lech performed impressively in the offensive whilst Legia was shown two yellow cards. However, as the match progressed, the hosts started regaining control of the game and Jose Kante had two decent goal scoring opportunities. Around the 30th minute, the team from Poznan came close to scoring following an interesting set-up of a corner kick, however, Gytkjaer's shot was easily stopped by Legia's keeper. Shortly before halftime, Jóźwiak had to intervene when Novikovas found himself in a great spot to shoot. Luckily for Lech, the young midfielder recovered the ball successfully.

The second half also began well for the guests and they managed to find the back of the net within a couple of minutes. Moder crossed the ball over to the opposite flank where Gumny was positioned, the latter sent a flat pass into the box, Puchacz subtly extended the cross towards Jevtic and Lech's captain redirected the ball into the goal.

However, soon after Lech took the lead, Legia once again started dominating the match. First, Martins fired a dangerous shot which van der Hart managed to stop from reaching the back of the net. A few moments later, it was already 1:1. Muhar lost the ball in the midfield which left enough space for Legia to counterattack and for Novikovas to equalize. In the following minutes, the hosts kept on looking for another goal causing problems to Lech's defensive line. The team from Poznan seemed to have a bit of luck, especially when Wszołek's dangerous shot flew above the crossbar. Lech had a couple more scoring chances but Gytkjaer struggled to convert them into a goal. Unfortunately for the guests, within a few minutes, Legia scored again. The debutant Rosołek received a pass in the penalty area and had no problem beating van der Hart who hesitated and made the task easier for the 18-year-old offensive player.

Lech Poznań was determined to get an equalizer but Amaral's passes, as well as shots, lacked the precision required to beat Legia's defensive line. The match ended with a 2:1 win for the hosts which means that Lech has once again failed to beat one of their biggest rivals in an away game - an unfortunate series that has been going on since 2015.
