In their first friendly of the 2025/2026 pre-season, Lech Poznań defeated Chrobry Głogów 2:1. Kamil Jakóbczyk and Tymoteusz Gmur scored the goals for the current Polish Champions.
Lech players are wrapping up the first week of their training camp at the Research & Development Centre in Wronki. After intense preparations - with two training sessions per day - it was time to test the squad’s form in a friendly game. On Saturday afternoon, Lech faced the first-division side Chrobry Głogów at their home ground.
The coaching staff prepared two different lineups for the first and second halves of the match. Bartosz Mrozek, Mateusz Skrzypczak, Mikael Ishak, and Daniel Håkans were not yet ready to play, which gave the Academy players, who are training with the first team during the pre-season, a chance to showcase their skills.
The first half was intense from both sides, with the two teams looking physically sharp and creating multiple goal-scoring chances. Ultimately, no goals were scored, despite efforts from Bryan Fiabema, Patrik Wålemark, Eryk Śledziński, and Bartłomiej Barański.
After the break, Niels Frederiksen switched the lineup, but the fresh XI continued to create chances. Śledziński came very close to scoring, but his shot was saved by the keeper, and before Tymoteusz Gmur could reach the ball, one of Chrobry’s defenders eliminated the threat.
Lech found the back of the net for the first time 15 minutes before the final whistle. Bartosz Salamon, who had come on a few minutes earlier, switched play across the field, where the ball bounced off a Chrobry defender and landed at Robert Gumny’s feet. The right-back spotted Kamil Jakóbczyk, and the latter converted the pass from his teammate into a precise shot that gave no chance to Chrobry’s keeper.
After conceding the goal, Chrobry Głogów pushed forward to equalise and capitalised on a defensive error from Lech. However, they didn’t enjoy the draw for long - Tymoteusz Gmur received a good pass from Gumny and sent a beautiful, technical shot into the back of the opponent’s net, securing the win for Lech.
The first week of training camp is now complete. Lech’s squad will head back to Poznań for a one-day break granted by the coaching staff, before returning to Wronki on Monday morning to continue their pre-season preparations.
