Lech Poznań will face the Finnish side Kuopion Palloseura in the UEFA Conference League knockout phase play-offs. The draw took place on Friday afternoon in Nyon, Switzerland. The matches between the two teams will take place on February 19th and 26th, with the latter to be held at Bułgarska Street.
The top 8 teams in the league phase of the UEFA Conference League had a guaranteed spot in the round of 16, among them Raków Częstochowa. Meanwhile, the clubs ranked 9th to 24th proceeded to the play-off stage. Two Polish clubs will fight for a spot in the round of 16 – Lech Poznań and Jagiellonia Białystok.
Niels Frederiksen’s side finished 11th, and it was clear that in the knockout stage play-offs, they would face either Kuopion Palloseura (Finland), also known as KuPS, or FK Shkëndija Tetovo (Northern Macedonia), who finished 21st and 22nd respectively. In the end, the Friday draw held in Nyon revealed that Frederiksen and his squad will compete against the Finnish side.
The play-off games are scheduled for February 19th and 26th, with the second leg to be held at Enea Stadium. UEFA will decide the kick-off times. The draw for the round of 16 will take place the day after the second match, that is, on Friday, February 27th.
