On Tuesday morning, Lech began their preparations for the spring round of the 2025/26 season. Niels Frederiksen and his players started with blood tests, followed by an introductory meeting, and then trained both in the gym and on the pitch. In the coming days, the team from Poznań will undergo fitness and endurance tests.
Lech began their first day together at 8:00 AM - that’s when blood tests and ECG exams were carried out. This was followed by a team breakfast, a briefing, gym sessions, and - at midday - a short training session on the pitch. Over the next few days, Frederiksen’s players will undergo fitness and endurance tests. The results of those are essential when it comes to planning training sessions and adjusting workloads, especially during the preparation period.
Several players were absent during the first training sessions. Luis Palma, Timothy Ouma, and Taofeek Ismaheel will only join the team on Wednesday. The Honduran international had to attend to a few formalities before returning to Poland, while the flights of the other two players were delayed due to adverse weather conditions. Radosław Murawski worked with the physiotherapists in the gym.
Players who struggled with injuries in the autumn have also already rejoined the team for the spring preparations. Daniel Håkans, Patrik Wålemark, Antonio Milić, Alex Douglas, Gisli Thordarson, and Filip Jagiełło were already training on the pitch. Additionally, Ian Hoffmann, who had returned from his loan, participated in the sessions.
On Sunday, Lech will travel to Abu Dhabi for the training camp, which will last until January 25th. During this period, the players from Poznań will play friendly matches against MŠK Žilina, FC Noah, and Dinamo Samarkand. The next phase of the preparations will take place in Poznań and will culminate in a league match against Lechia Gdańsk (January 31st, 8:15 PM).
