On Thursday, Lech began preparations for the 2025/2026 season. The Poznań squad kicked off the preseason with medical tests at 8:00 AM, followed by a workout at the gym, and then the first official training session of the campaign. Over the weekend, Lech players will undergo endurance and fitness tests.
Niels Frederiksen’s team started their first day together at 8:00 AM with blood tests and ECGs. Afterwards, they had breakfast together and attended a briefing, followed by a workout at the gym. At noon, the squad participated in the first training session of the 2025/2026 season. Over the weekend, all of the players will undergo endurance and fitness testing, which is crucial for planning training sessions and adjusting workloads, especially during the preseason.
A few players have missed the kickoff of the preparations. Daniel Håkans and Ali Gholizadeh, due to recent injuries, will return to Poznań at the end of June. The same goes for Bartosz Mrozek, who was called up for the Polish national team training camp. Additionally, Antoni Kozubal, Michał Gurgul, and Filip Szymczak recently returned from the U-21 European Championship, so they are getting well-deserved rest until July 3rd.
Meanwhile, players who were out on loan during the recent spring round have rejoined the team to prepare for the upcoming campaign. Elias Andersson, Bartłomiej Barański, Mateusz Pruchniewski, and Krzysztof Bąkowski have all joined Lech’s first team for the preseason kickoff.
On Monday, June 23rd, Frederiksen’s squad will travel to Lech’s Research and Development Centre in Wronki, where they will train until July 5th. During their stay at the Academy's home ground, Lech will play friendly matches against Chrobry Głogów and Banik Ostrava. After returning to Poznań, the players will begin preparations for the Polish Super Cup clash with Legia Warsaw, which will take place at Enea Stadium on July 13th at 6:00 PM.
