Chairman Klimczak joins Polish FA board
Lech Poznań Chairman Karol Klimczak was chosen as a new member of the board of the Polish Football Association.
The main topic of the general meeting held in Warsaw was the appointment of a new head of the association. Cezary Kulesza was chosen as the new Chairman of the Polish FA. The 59-year-old replaced Zbigniew Boniek has been given the title of an honourable Polish FA Chairman.
Kulesza is known for his short football career as well as his management experience – in the years 1988-1990 he played for second-division Jagiellonia Białystok (14 caps) and then went on to become the club’s Chairman in 2010. Two years later he joined the Polish FA board and from 2016 on, he was the Vice-Chairman of Professional Football at PZPN. Recently, Kulesza also became a member of the Ekstraklasa SA Supervisory Board.
During the general meeting, new Vice-Chairmen were also chosen. Henryk Kula will be overseeing the organizational and financial matters, Maciej Mateńsko will be responsible for coaching, Mieczysław Golba for international matters, Wojciech Cygan will be tasked with running the professional football section, and Adam Kaźmierczak will be the Vice-Chairman of amateur football.
The Polish FA board was joined by 12 new candidates, among them Lech’s Chairman Karol Klimczak who received 87 votes. Apart from Klimczak, the board will now also include Tomasz Garbowski, Sławomir Kopczewski, Zbigniew Bartnik, Tomasz Lisiński, Radosław Michalski, Sławomir Pietrzyk, Robert Skowron, Paweł Wojtala i Eugeniusz Nowak.
