Potential opponents in the Europa League fourth qualifying round
The winners of the tie between FC Thun and Víkingur Reykjavík will be Lech's potential opponents in the fourth qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. If Niels Frederiksen's squad wins the two-leg clash with KÍ Klaksvík, they will either face the reigning Swiss or Icelandic Champions in a fight for a place in the league phase. The matches are scheduled for August 20th and 27th.
The draw for the final qualifying round of the Europa League took place on Monday (1:00 PM) at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. Lech were among the seeded teams and already knew that one of the following four opponents could await them from a pool of twelve potential teams and ties:
- the winners of the tie between FC Thun (Switzerland) and Víkingur Reykjavík (Iceland)
- OFI Crete (Greece)
- the losers of the tie between AGF Aarhus (Denmark) and Sabah Baku (Azerbaijan)
- the losers of the tie between GNK Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia) and FK Žalgiris (Lithuania)
The draw paired the Polish Champions with the winners of the FC Thun vs Víkingur Reykjavík tie, should they progress past KÍ Klaksvík. The decisive qualifying ties will be played on August 20th and 27th, with the first leg taking place at the Enea Stadium.
