ŁKS Łódź - Lech Poznań 2:3
Lech Poznań is back on the winning track. On Sunday afternoon, Mariusz Rumak’s squad beat ŁKS Łódź 3:2 thanks to an extra-time goal from Filip Marchwiński.
The weekend before the away clash with ŁKS Łódź, Lech suffered a surprising defeat against Puszcza Niepołomice (1:2) and failed to take advantage of Jagiellonia Białystok’s – the current league leaders – loss of points. Meanwhile, the hosts were in a better mood since last week they won against Radomiak Radom (3:2) at home. The fans gathered at the Municipal Stadium in Łódź on Sunday once again witnessed 5 goals. Lech players were the first ones to find the back of the net thanks to Mikael Ishak who beat Dawid Arndt with a header and claimed his 50th league goal. Early in the second half, Lech changed the score to 2:0 – this time it was Filip Marchwiński who confidently converted a beautiful long ball from Elias Andersson into a second goal with a shot between the goalkeeper’s legs.
Not long later, ŁKS Łódź responded with a goal of their own - Husein Balić was fouled by Jesper Karlstrom inside Lech’s box and the hosts were awarded a penalty kick which Kay Tejan converted into a goal. Since the 68th minute, ŁKS was forced to play with 10 men only as Thiago Ceijas received a second yellow card. Still, despite the red card, Marcin Matysiak’s squad dominated on the pitch and managed to equalize thanks to a goal from Stipe Jurić. However, ŁKS’s celebrations were cut short as Filip Marchwiński scored the decisive goal. The young striker received a great cross from Joel Pereira and although his header was stopped by the keeper, Dawid Arndt was helpless when Marchwiński fired a follow-up shot at the goal. Mariusz Rumak’s squad triumphed 3:2 and went back home with three league points.
