Dynamo Moscow - Lech Poznań 0:2

Second friendly match in Turkey and second win. Having won with Bandirmaspor just a few days ago, Lech once again triumphed, but this time against Dynamo Moscow. Academy youngster Filip Szymczak scored two goals.

Since the opening minutes, it was very clear that Lech Poznań felt comfortable and confident despite facing a higher-ranked rival. In the 7th minute, the Polish side got their first goal-scoring opportunity but Pedro Tiba mishit the ball and failed to convert a great pass from Jakub Kamiński into an opening goal. Shortly afterwards, the latter could score a goal of his own when Mohammad Awwad set him up with a good pass, but Dynamo’s Karapuzov blocked the attempt in time. Lech didn’t slow down and in the 20th minute Vasyl Kravets crossed the ball from the left flank into the box where Awwad was waiting, however, unluckily for the Polish team, the Israeli’s shot landed right in the hands of Dynamo’s keeper.

Lech did eventually manage to seal their attempts with a goal. In the 21st minute, Michał Skóraś dribbled past two Russian players and sent a perfectly-timed long ball to Filip Szymczak who kept his cool, beat the goalkeeper in a one-on-one clash, and placed the ball in the back of the net. In the 24th minute Dynamo finally caused a real threat to Lech’s defensive line but Terekhov’s shot wasn’t problematic for Filip Bednarek to stop. Shortly afterwards, Szymczak changed the score to 2:0 and Jakub Kamiński added an impressive assist to his account – the 18-year-old winger dribbled around the Russian defenders in the box and served his Academy teammate the ball on a silver platter.

Unlike in the recent match against Bandirmaspor, Dariusz Żuraw didn’t replace all eleven players during halftime but made 5 substitutions only. Mickey van der Hart, Lubomir Šatka, Tymoteusz Puchacz, Filip Marchwiński and Krystian Palacz appeared on the pitch ahead of the second part of the game. Around the 60th minute, Lech’s coach decided to make 6 additional changes in the squad and one of those substitutions had a big impact on the game – Norbert Pacławski put in a great individual performance and could even seal it with an impressive assist but Palacz’s shot was stopped at the last moment by one of Dynamo’s defenders.

Not much happened on the other end of the pitch but whenever the team from Moscow got an opportunity to attack, Mickey van der Hart was focused and intervened without errors. For instance, around the 75th minute, the Dutch keeper was forced to show his skills when Zakharyan fired an accurate shot on goal. Szymański also came close to scoring in the last part of the game but his attempt was off target. Shortly before the final whistle, the team from Poznań could set the final score to 3:0 but Puchacz’s shot from free kick was successfully stopped by Shunin.
