Lech Poznań – Pogoń Szczecin 1:1

Lech remains unbeaten at home. In the Saturday clash with Pogoń Szczecin, the team from Poznań drew 1:1 thanks to a very late equalizer from Pedro Tiba.

Lech was ranked at the top of the league table prior to the match against Pogoń Szczecin who was placed just behind the team from Poznań. Hence, the fans expected an exhilarating game, however, the first half was rather different as neither of the teams delivered a good spectacle.

Only in the second half did Lech start attacking with more intensity, mainly thanks to Pedro Tiba who appeared on the pitch in the 46th minute. First, the Portuguese himself came close to scoring but his impressive volley was successfully stopped by the goalkeeper. Then, shortly after, Joao Amaral’s shot hit the post.

15 minutes into the second half, things got complicated for Lech as Nika Kvekveskiri was shown a second yellow, and as a result a red card. From then on, it was Pogoń that indisputably dominated on the pitch and in the 85th minute, Luka Zahovic scored a goal that looked like it was going to be worth three league points.

However, Lech wasn’t planning on giving up and despite being one man short, the hosts got an equalizer in the injury time. Antonio Milić redirected the ball with his head to Pedro Tiba who was right outside the box, and the Portuguese scored with a beautiful, flat shot which left the goalkeeper helpless.
