Jevtić signs a contract with Rubin Kazan

“I am glad to be joining this club. I have heard plenty about it and after the initial talks, I knew it would be a matter of time before I moved to Poznań. I am very happy,” said Darko Jevtić shortly after he finalised his transfer to Lech Poznań in June 2014.

Jevtić was loaned to Lech from FC Basel and 6 months later the Polish club decided to convert the temporary transfer into a permanent deal. Over the past five-and-a-half years, Jevtić gathered 192 appearances, 37 goals, and 43 assists. Those statistics rank the midfielder third in terms of foreign players with the most goals in the club’s history and in the category of non-Polish footballers with the most caps on their account. When it comes to the current squad, Jevtić has spent the longest time at the club from Poznań and last summer his teammates made him the captain.

Polish Championship title and Polish Super Cup won in 2015 – these are Jevtić’s biggest achievements from his span at Lech. He played a key role in the fight for those two trophies, especially in the league – in the season 2014/15, Jevtić scored 7 goals and some of them had a paramount impact on Lech’s success. In addition, in 2017 the Swiss midfielder won a bronze league medal with his teammates and got to represent the club from Poznań in Europa League group phase in the season 2015/16.

“Darko spent over five years at Lech which makes him the most experienced player in the squad. Captain armband, nearly 200 games, Polish Championship title... However, for some time now Jevtić has been saying that he wants to move on; it was clear that he won’t be renewing his contract in June,” explained Tomasz Rząsa, Lech’s Sporting Director. “A few days ago we received a great offer, both for the club and for the player himself. Even though this decision didn’t come easily, we gave Jevtić a green light to move to Rubin Kazan. Darko, we would like to thank you for your devotion to the club and we wish you all the best,” added Rząsa.
