Rogne will join Lech in January
Thomas Rogne will become Lech’s player in January. The centre back’s contract ends at the end of the year and he has already reached an agreement with Lech. The deal with the club from Poznan will last until December 2021.
“I am excited and proud to become a part of such a great club. Lech has a long history, brilliant fans and a beautiful stadium. I am very, very happy,” said Thomas Rogne. “I know a bit about the Polish league because I faced Piast Gliwice in Europa League qualifications,” added the centre back.
The 27-year-old will compete for IFK Goteborg until 31st December 2017. The centre back joined the Swedish side in March 2015. He is a homegrown player of Stabaek IF, but used to play for the likes of Celtic Glasgow and Wigan. Rogne’s most successful years date back to his stay in the Scottish club – that’s where he won Scottish Championship and Scottish Cup, and 3 appearances in Europa League and one in the Champions League to his account. In addition, the Norwegian wore the national shirt twice during his career – against Northern Ireland and Greece.
“Rogne’s characteristics fit the description of a perfect centre back for Lech Poznan. Most of all, he gained experience at the highest level, represented his team on the international arena and has 2 national trophies on his account,” said Piotr Rutkowski, Lech’s vice-chairman.
The player’s contract will come to life on 1st January 2018 and will last for 4 years.
