Legia Warsaw - Lech Poznań 2:0

The match began really well for Legia which scored in 6th minute. Lech left open space that Legia skilfully converted into a goal. Dabrowski’s long ball reached Odidja-Ofoe who rushed into Lech’s box and, despite being marked by Kedziora, fired a shot past Putnocky and into the back of the net.

Nonetheless, Lech was the team that dominated the first half of the match. It did, however, take the guests a couple of long minutes to recover after conceding a goal that early. Meanwhile, Legia built a few good scoring chances. For instance, Nagy had opportunities to score, but his numerous attempts were either blocked, or off target. On the other end of the pitch Radut tried surprising Malarz, but he failed as well.

Despite remaining in possession of the ball for the majority of the time, Lech struggled to build scoring chances good enough to result in an equalizer. Set pieces were something that Bjelica’s players were hoping for, but they didn’t cause problems to Legia’s defensive line either. The best scoring chance Lech had following a corner kick ended with Malarz clearing the threat before Radut reached the ball.

The opening minutes of the second half were dominated by Lech too. Makuszewski initiated a series of offensive attacks with a good individual run. The winger dribbled past a defender, raced into the box and fired a shot, but the ball bounced off Legia’s players and the shot went wide. 6 minutes later Kedziora crossed the ball into the penalty area and Kownacki came very close to redirecting the ball into the back of the net, but he cross turned out to fly slightly too high for the forward.

Bjelica was hoping that Robak would bring some fresh energy to the team. Kownacki moved to the flank, while Radut was given the role of a playmaker. However, Lech also had to remain cautious in the defense. Odidja-Ofoe caused a lot of problems to the defensive line from Poznan. In the 66^th minute Guilherme had a good scoring chance, but he was blocked by Bednarek at the last moment.

The last 15 minutes of the match were dominated by Legia. Guilherme was one of the key players in the offensive attack led by the hosts. Lech was determined to equalize, but before they managed to, Legia scored the second goal. In the 83^rd minute Kucharczyk beat Putnocky in a clash one-against-one and set the final score to 2:0.
