National teams’ schedule – who and when?

Nineteen Lech Poznan players have been called up to join their national team colleagues during the upcoming international break. Nine of those footballers are a part of the first-team squad.

On Friday, the Polish senior national team is going to continue competing in the Euro 2020 qualifiers. The Poles are scheduled to play against Slovenia and Austria. Robert Gumny is hoping to debut in either of those matches after receiving his second call-up for the Polish senior squad.

However, he is not the only Lech Poznan player who might appear on the pitch over the next week. Christian Gytkjaer and Lubomir Satka were also asked to represent their countries. The Danish forward will try improving his stats against Gibraltar and Georgia whilst the Slovakian defender and his teammates are going to face Croatia and Hungary.

A number of Lech footballers also joined youth teams. Kamil Jozwiak and Pawel Tomczyk will strengthen the U-21 Polish squad in the European Championship qualifiers. Michniewicz’s team is scheduled to play against Latvia and – four days later – Estonia.

Another trio of players from Poznan is joining the U-20 team led by Magiera. Tymoteusz Puchacz, Dawid Kurminowski, and Michal Skoras received a call-up ahead of the Elite League tournament during which the Polish side is going to face Italians and Portuguese.

Meanwhile, Filip Marchwinski, Karol Smajdor, and Jakub Kaminski are going to help the U-19 Polish national team which has a training camp (September 1-11) and two matches – against Armenia and Georgia – scheduled for this international break

The Mermaid Cup is a chance for the U-17s to test themselves. Krzysztof Bąkowski, Jerzy Tomal, Filip Borowski and Patryk Gogół will get an opportunity to perform against players from Georgia. Whichever side wins will face either Switzerland or Norway.

The youngest players won’t appear on the pitch until mid-September. Antoni Kozubal, Wiktor Nowicki, Norbert Pacławski and Jakub Złoch will represent the U-16 squad against their Turkish rivals.
