Recognition for Marchwiński

On October 10th, British newspaper The Guardian published a list of 60 most talented footballers born in 2002. Marchwinski was one of the names you could find in the online article.

The sports section of The Guardian is one of the most popular, opinion-forming portals that concentrate on football. The newspaper regularly publishes lists of the most promising young talents. This time, the editors decided to take an in-depth look at the rising stars born in 2002. Among the 60 players they found most talented was Filip Marchwinski. Lech’s homegrown striker was recognized alongside the likes of Adam Hlozek (Sparta Praha), Efrain Alvarez (Los Angeles Galaxy), Filip Stevanovic (Partizan Belgrad), and Ansu Fati (FC Barcelona) – i.e. regular first-team starters who are capable of adding significant value to their club’s senior squad.

Filip Marchwinski joined Lech Poznan Academy back in 2010 and has been progressing rapidly ever since. In December 2018, the young striker was given a chance to debut for the senior team in an away clash against Zaglebie Sosnowiec. In that same match, Marchwinski scored his first goal for Lech’s A squad becoming the youngest striker to get a league goal in the club’s history, and had a big impact on the final score which was, simultaneously, the highest league win ever delivered by the team from Poznan. His debut could undoubtedly be described as an impressive one. The next time Marchwinski found the back of the net was against Legia Warsaw at home and this time his goal was even more significant because the match ended with 1:0 win for the team from Poznan. The promising striker keeps on scoring and in the most recent clash with Wisla Cracow, the youngster got yet another goal. So far, he appeared in 14 first-team games and all fans are waiting impatiently to see more from this talented player.
